Speedy Hummus

Hummus in minutes! When you fancy it and you haven’t got any, when you want to use simple ingredients or when you want to save your pennies…this is a great, easy recipe and tastes amazing. Happy dunking!

Ingredients:

1 can chickpeas, drained

Juice 1 lemon

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp tahini

1/4 cup water (plus more depending on consistency)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1-2tsp cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • In a blender, combine all the ingredients until until smooth.
  • Add in more water as you need it to loosen it.
  • Store in the fridge for a week. We like to split the batch in half and freeze some.

    Hi, is there an alternative to Tahini paste when making speedy hummus? We live in France and I’ve never seen it here.

    1. Hi Kerry! You could use another seed butter like sunflower seed or you could make your own tahini from sesame seeds. Alternatively you could add a few more tbsps of olive oil. Hope that helps!
